Feature Events for the 2010 Fair!
Open Breeding Gilt Show—Another addition to
this year’s schedule, which will allow youth of Van Zandt County
to show their gilts in the market and breeding show.
Food Challenge-A cookoff between schools and 4-H
teams. A great learning and competitive event.
Concerts- Check out the schedule on the home page
and be prepared to hear great music on Friday and Saturday evening!
Talent Search –Back by popular demand, come
out on Thursday evening and hear and see the youth of Van Zandt County
compete in the Talent Show. Was a great hit last year!
911 Chili Cookoff- we are asking all 911 related
agencies to consider entering a team and finding out just who is the
best at making chili. There will also be an open category.
Junior Heifer Show- These kids take their heifers
across the state to the majors and this show will showcase the quality
of heifers and kids in our county. It will kick off Saturday's events
at 9 a.m.
Expanded Venues and Food Booths- We hope to have
something for everyone.
In addition, the schedule includes the popular and back
by demand pet show- always a hit with the kids.
Also on Thursday is your chance to come out and see the FFA and
4-H members from across the county compete for honors in the Market
Show- lots of hard work goes into these animal projects and we welcome
you to support the kids with your attendance and enthusiasm. Then
on Friday evening, these projects will sell and there are many ways
to be involved in supporting the kids from a cash donation of an amount
of your choice to buying the grand champions-check the contact list
for information on the market show and sale.
Open Show- Open to everyone with purebred livestock.
Starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
